I follow both Lucy and Pomona's blogs and they have both recently 'discovered' the Fly Lady so I considered my own disorderly conduct and decided it was time to have a go at FLYing myself.
I have signed up to the free emails as my house is always in a state of utter CHAOS [Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome] and have had my initial lesson which explains all about how to have a shiny sink. I have also shined my sink [in fact, I've done the kitchen and bathroom ones because I was so enthusiastic] and I still have a shiny sink but unfortunately, this is as far as it's gone.
Fly Lady sends out regular emails suggesting that you do various things around the house: there are tools, zones, books and forums to assist, buy and take part in. What she doesn't do is come round to your house and do the cleaning for you.
Any ideas how I can maintain that initial enthusiasm I felt when I first signed up?

I signed up for that many moons ago but the constant emails kept cluttering up my inbox and making me feel even more guilty so I resigned :)

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog, as for the fly lady I too saw Lucy's posts and well I decided to stay well clear of the fly lady as she would induce more guilt than pleasure in my dusty life! xox Penelope

Ahh see, I DIDN'T sign up to the emails cos I knew it would irritate me being told what to do all the time, I am quite contrary that way.
I don't know what the answer is, except that you have to really want to Make It Happen. Noone can do it except for you.
I'm still FLYing and have totally surprised myself at the joy I feel when I've worked an hour in my home sorting little bits of it out. I have never in my life felt joy with household chores, I am quite shocked at these new feelings of accomplishment, pride and yes joy. Amazing.
